Thailand: No COVID-related restrictions for India travellers

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) in its official release has urged all passengers travelling back to India to carry out an RT-PCR test within 72 hours of departure, and upload the results on the Air Suvidha website. This comes as India has recently updated COVID travel rules.

However, TAT offices have added that since international travellers to Thailand are no longer required to provide any proof of vaccination or ATK test result, no restrictions will be in place for Indian travellers too entering Thailand starting October 1, 2022.
The TAT offices also added that to ensure the safety of tourists, they will be closely monitoring any changes or keep updating measures on COVID-19 protocol, which might affect Indian travellers to Thailand. They further informed that the availability of testing facilities in Thailand is widespread and readily accessible.

Meanwhile, in view of the rising COVID cases in other countries, India’s Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has updated guidelines for travellers entering the country, and also mandated RT-PCR test for those coming from Thailand and five other Asian countries with effect from January 1, 2023.
Plus, all passengers from these countries will be required to upload their reports on the Air Suvidha portal before travel.

With regard to this, the TAT highlighted that all tourism-related and business services are fully operational, and that tourism is back to normal in the country, with no restrictions on travel within the country.
