Quarantine rules might soon be relaxed for foreigners visiting Thailand. The country is planning to start a series of steps that is aimed at restarting the tourism sector in the country. After months of COVID-19 regulations, and restrictions, the country is finally looking to welcome visitors once again.
It has been suggested that the relaxation will at first be considered for top Thai tourist destinations, such as Krabi, and Phuket. Both of these destinations attract tourists by the numbers. There is also talk about lifting mandatory quarantines by July 1, so that vaccinated tourists can visit the country.
As of today, Thailand has about 71 new cases of coronavirus, with 79 active cases. The country’s tourism is a major hit among foreign tourists, with its beach destinations being at the top of travel bucket list. Cities such as Bangkok also entertain a lot of tourists every year, and relaxing the quarantine rules can only mean that more people would be open to visiting the country after a prolonged lockdown.
