Americans wanting to visit Portugal will have to show their negative RT PCR test report taken within the last 72 hours before boarding. A rapid antigen test, taken within 24 hours of boarding, is also valid.
As of now, Portugal has placed a number of restrictions across the country. First and foremost is the mask. Tourists are required to wear face masks all the time, be it beaches or any other public space. Then comes social distancing and, at the beaches, visitors must maintain a distance of 1.5 m (around 5 ft) between their towels.
According to the U.S. Embassy and Consulate in Portugal, social distance measures and masks are enforced in all closed public areas. As far as flights are concerned, United Airlines has become the first American airline to resume flights to Portugal.
Portugal is a beautiful European country, renowned for its beaches, cafes and restaurants. Presently, all the cafes and restaurants in the country are open but it’s limited to groups of 6 people indoors and 10 people outdoors.
