According to Union Minister of State for Development of North Eastern Region, Jintendra Singh, Manipur, and Agartala will be getting two more international airports so as to have increased connectivity in the region. The northeast region is still widely left out as far as flight connections are concerned, but all that should change with the two new airports.
Speaking at an event, the Minister said, "At present, there is an international airport in Guwahati. We are planning to have airports in Imphal and Agartala as well."
The North East region is still relatively unexplored, except for certain parts, and good connectivity is certain to change that. The seven sister states are full of natural wonders, and great experiences, with unique tribal cultures residing here.
