India-UAE flight ban has now been extended until August 2

Etihad Airways has now announced that flights from India to the United Arab Emirates will continue to be banned until August 2. The national carrier of UAE tweeted saying that the airline company is not sure as to when the ban will be lifted. As of now it seems that it depends on the situation at hand then.
According to reports the country will exempt UAE nationals, those holding UAE Golden Visa, and members of diplomatic missions from this ban. However, such people must comply with the latest travel rules.


Meanwhile, Emirates has also extended its flight ban to Dubai from India, alongside Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. Furthermore, the airline has also announced that those who have travelled to the above mentioned countries in the last 14 days, will not be permitted to travel to the UAE, no matter from where they may be flying.
Emirates said in a statement, "UAE Nationals, holders of UAE Golden Visas and members of diplomatic missions who comply with updated COVID‑19 protocols, are exempt and may be accepted for travel,"

The ongoing flight ban is mainly due to the fear of the Delta variant of the virus, even though India in the recent weeks have been recovering from the large number of cases.
