In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, not only your travel plans have disrupted, but also family outings seem to be risky to plan. In such a scenario, Bengaluru seems to have an option to address this concern of yours. It has come up with an interesting plan that will let you relive the good times with your family. You can now book helicopter rides here, and go on an adventurous ride with your family, and enjoy bird’s eye view of the Garden City. Here’s all that you need to know.

Thumby Aviation has now started helicopter rides to offer you and your family a joy ride amid the pandemic. Right now, it might seem to be risky to plan for a spontaneous weekend getaway, but you can sign up for a quick joy ride when in Bengaluru. Reportedly, the said aviation services that offer heli shuttle services between Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) and the Electronic City, is now offering helicopter rides during the weekends for small groups and families comprising five to six people.
Referring to this, a senior official from Thumby Aviation stated that although they started shuttle services to cater to those travelling between KIA and Electronic City, they are now offering rides for public during the weekends as the demand for travel has come down in the wake of COVID pandemic.
The official also added that the services offer a 10-min ride over Bengaluru, and that the rides are on offer only to one group or families. Share rides are not permitted, keeping in mind the safety and social distancing rules.
The helicopter that is used for the joy rides have capacity to accommodate five to six passengers, whereas the fare for each seat has been capped at INR 3500. As such, if a family wants to book five seats, it will cost them INR 17500.

Further, to ensure that social distancing and other safety protocols are in place, the pilot’s and passenger’s cabins will be separated. Also, both the cabins have separate AC vents.
