Char Dham Yatra to get an all-weather road by 2022

The Char Dham Yatra is all set to get an all-weather road by 2022. This report comes after JP Nadda, National President of BJP announced it on Wednesday. The all-weather Char Dham road would connect Gangotri, Yamunotri, Badrinath and Kedarnath, the four holy destinations. The project was first launched in 2016, and is about to get completed.
Nadda said in a virtual address, “The Rs 12,000-crore project would boost tourism in Uttarakhand and get the state global recognition, making it a much sought-after tourist destination.”

The Char Dham Yatra is one of the most sought-after pilgrimage trips in India. It points to the four religious destinations in the state of Uttarakhand, as mentioned before, Gangotri, Yamunotri, Badrinath, and Kedarnath.
The yatra is important for Hindus as according to their religious beliefs, this trek rids people of their sins, and allows them Moksha. The yatra is expected to be undertaken by pilgrims at least once in their life. The all-weather road to these four holy destinations will certainly ease the whole trip for pilgrims. The yatra is also open to foreigners, and hence it can prove to be a great new travel destination.

The four temples are located in Uttarakhand’s Garhwal region, and Haridwar is the destination from where the yatra begins. Yamunotri is the source of River Yamuna, while Gangotri is the source of River Ganga. The other two destinations, Badrinath and Kedarnath are dedicated to Lord Shiva.
