Kolkata airport wants COVID negative report from passengers of these states

Kolkata airport has now made it mandatory for passengers from Karnataka, Kerala, Telangana, and Maharashtra to show a RT-PCR negative test report when landing in the city. Airport authorities have asked passengers from these states to get the test done within 72 hours before departure. The decision taken by the airport is in alignment with the West Bengal state government’s latest guidelines for COVID-19.
West Bengal reported 20 new deaths, and 10343 fresh cases of COVID-19, as cases have spiked all over the country. Kolkata had a record one-day spike of 1271 cases of coronavirus, and North 24 Parganas reported 1134 new cases.

Reports suggest that Tuesday recorded the highest number of cases on a single day in the state, taking the number of cases to 624224, with death toll up to 10434.

Kolkata’s Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport took to Twitter, and stated the following, “As per State Govt guidelines passengers coming to #KolkataAirport from Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala & Telangana must carry RT PCR negative test report conducted within 72 hours before departure.”

Passengers are required to travel with caution, and follow all COVID protocols at the airport.

India is seeing a rise in coronavirus cases, as death rates have also increased. One of the prime reasons for this is slack on part of the people, and government bodies.
