Kashmir plains received season’s first snowfall today, whereas areas in upper reaches of Kashmir and south Kashmir also received fresh spell of snowfall. As per the weathermen, fresh western disturbance is active and will likely bring more rain and snowfall in Kashmir and Ladakh. Read less
As per the latest news reports, the fresh spell of snowfall has also disrupted the traffic on Srinagar-Jammu national highway. Referring to this, Inspector General of Jammu and Kashmir Traffic stated that due to accumulation of snow at Jawahar Tunnel and landslides at several places along the national highway, the road is blocked now.
Gulmarg with more than 4 ft snow accumulated this season, the tourism department had already started sports activities in Gulmarg to boost winter tourism in the region.
