Reportedly, apart from these facilities, a science park and an amphitheatre will also be developed here. Karnataka Power Corporation Limited (KPCL) has already started to commission works to ensure that this spot soon turns into a world-class tourist site.
As a part of the makeover, the current viewing deck will be upgraded, whereas the other one will be added. Moreover, the amphitheatre will be developed for cultural events, a science park will be there to keep the kids engaged, enhanced with amenities like toilets and cafeteria.
Sources from the KPCL said that the project is the brainchild of Shivamogga MP BY Raghavendra, and also includes a religious aspect. The source further added that the project will involve starting a boating facility from jungle lodges to the Vadanbailu Padmavathi Temple in Hebbail village. At present, tourists require permission from KPCL to travel to the temple via Kargal, which is at a distance of 15 km. With the start of the boating facility, it will have prior approval and will cut down the time and distance while offering an unique experience at the same time.
Reportedly, KPCL has set 2023 as the deadline for the project, whereas officials are also planning to rebuild the swimming pool which was dismantled around six years ago.
