Revealing more on the tourist visa, Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary, Seiji Kihara stated that a weak Yen is most effective in attracting inbound tourism, and that further steps must be taken to lure foreign visitors.
Reportedly, Japan raised the daily cap of inbound travellers from 20000 to 50000, and also eliminated the requirement for pre-departure COVID tests to lure more and more visitors to the country.
Therefore, as reported earlier, those visiting Japan will from now on be exempt from taking COVID-19 tests 72 hours before departure, if they have been vaccinated by three shots.
If reports are to go by, Japan has been looking to bring its entrance protocols, which was once the most rigid among the G7 nations, in line with other major economies.
