The full moon on Holi this time is going to be something special. Being hailed as the Super Worm Moon, the big and beautiful moon will be seen tonight. It has been reported that the super worm moon will be seen in India at around 6:36 pm on March 28.
Nicknames are assigned to full moons every year by the Old Farmer’s Almanac. This is an old Native American custom wherein the full moons were named after certain markers, such as animal behaviours, or even the weather. The Worm Moon has been named so as this is the month of spring when earthworms come out from the ground.
The Worm Moon is the fourth closest full moon of the year, and is the fourth biggest and brightest. These Super Moons are almost 14 to 30 percent bigger than the average moons.
The Super Worm Moon was first seen in the 1930s Maine Farmer’s Almanac. The Super Worm Moon seen in the month of March is also known as sugar, sap, crow, srust, or as we are calling it in 2021, the Worm Moon.
