Indian mountaineers, Baljeet Kaur and Arjun Vajpai, rescued from Mt Annapurna in Nepal

Baljeet Kaur, the 27-year-old Indian woman climber, has been rescued after she went missing near Camp IV of Mt Annapurna. This news brought happiness to all those who were cheering for her; it was assumed by many that she might not be able to make it after news of her missing surfaced.

As per the reports, Baljeet Kaur had successfully scaled the world's 10th-highest peak without using supplemental oxygen on Monday, but was left alone below the summit point and was not reachable by radio, until she managed to get it touch and sent a signal for immediate help.
Following her signal, an aerial search team made all the necessary efforts and located Baljeet Kaur above Camp IV, after which a rescue mission was conducted to airlift her from the high camp.

Revealing more about this, Chairman at Pioneer Adventure Pasang Sherpa added that she has suffered from frostbite, and has been rushed to CIWEC Hospital from Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. He further revealed that Ms Kaur was rescued from a height of 7,363 m after a search team pinned her location above Camp IV.
Pasang added that the search team spotted her descending alone towards Camp IV. Although they lost radio contact with her on Monday, they got an SOS signal from her on Tuesday morning, which prompted authorities to mobilise at least three helicopters to rescue her.

Reportedly, a total of five climbers, including Ms Kaur, were rescued from different camps around Mt Annapurna. While a Northern Irish climber couldn’t be saved, the other three rescued are Arjun Vajpai from India, and Shehroze Kashif and Naila Kiani from Pakistan.

Also, another Indian climber, Anurag Malu from Rajasthan, still remains missing.
