IMD predicts rains and thundershowers in Bengaluru from December 8

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rains and thunderstorms in Bengaluru because of Cyclone Fengal starting December 8. As of now, temperatures in Bengaluru range between 18°C and 24°C, which means it’s cold.

Since the cyclone's onset, the city has experienced a noticeable drop in temperatures, accompanied by light to moderate rainfall. This shift has provided much-needed relief to residents, breaking the city's typical hot climate.
While Bengaluru enjoys moderate rainfall, the coastal regions of Karnataka are facing heavier downpours due to the cyclone's stronger influence there. As Cyclone Fengal weakens, the IMD expects its impact to diminish by December 6, but the city's weather is expected to remain dynamic. A brief dry spell is anticipated on December 7, followed by thundershowers from December 8 to December 10. During this period, temperatures are forecasted to range between 19°C and 27°C, continuing the cool trend and providing further relief from warmer days.

The IMD's forecast indicates a mix of cloudy skies and intermittent showers throughout the week, with the intensity of rain expected to fluctuate. Experts are closely monitoring the weather transition as the cyclone dissipates. Coastal Karnataka has been particularly affected, with substantial rainfall causing disruptions in several areas. Although Bengaluru's rains are milder, the cyclone's tail end continues to influence the overall weather conditions in the region.
