However, it was not just another vicious reptile but the guardian crocodile that lives in the temple pond. Babiya, the resident crocodile surprised everyone when it crawled into the shrine of Lord Anantha. However, as soon as the head priest of the shrine, Chandraprakash Nambisan, requested Babiya to return to its pond, the crocodile quietly followed the behest.
Babiya is a crocodile that guards a secret crevice located in the pond of Ananthapura Temple. Unlike other animals of the species, Babiya does not eat meat or even the fish living in the temple pond. Rather, it lives on the prasad of boiled rice and jaggery given by the temple priest and devotees.Meet Bibiya, The vegetarian crocodile that guards a temple in Kerala.
