Haryana is extending its lockdown until September 6

The state of Haryana has decided to extend its lockdown until 5 am on September 6. The government in Haryana is going in with this lockdown while at the same time allowing certain relaxations such as the opening of bars, malls, restaurants, clubhouses, and shops. It is being called Mahamari Alert-Surakshit Haryana, which translates to Epidemic Alert-Safe Haryana.
Vijai Vardhan, Chief Secretary, Haryana, said, "The Mahamari Alert-Surakshit Haryana is extended for another fortnight, that is from August 23 (5 am onwards) to September 6 (till 5 am) in the state of Haryana along with guidelines to be implemented during this period issued vide earlier orders."

The Haryana government has issued this order in the exercise of powers under the various provisions of the Disaster Management Act, 2005.
It has also been reported that other guidelines such as social distancing, seating capacity, sanitization, etc, will continue to be followed.

Haryana is also reopenings its colleges and universities, but for what is being called doubt classes, and also practical classes in labs, practical exams, and offline exams. These exams shall be conducted with strict COVID rules and regulations.

The Maharmari Alert-Surakshit Haryana lockdown was first imposed on May 3, 2021. It was then extended many times until now. This latest continuous lockdown was first ordered from August 9, and as of now will end on September 6.
