With their vaccination drive, the castle is hoping to attract more tourists. The castle that is set amid the beautiful Carpathian Mountains in Transylvania will be giving shots of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine to visitors.
The castle is open for all tourists, vaccinated or not vaccinated. If a person receives a shot here, he/she will earn a Diploma reading that they were vaccinated at Bran Castle. Also, for such visitors, admission would be made free.
What makes the campaign more alluring and interesting is the photo of fangs replaced by needles and a nurse with fangs holding the COVID vaccine dose in an injection.
All visitors need to do is follow COVID-19 safety protocols, like maintaining social distance, hand sanitisers and wearing a face mask all the time. This medieval castle, which is also the inspiration behind Bram Stoker's 1897 novel Dracula, is a landmark in Romania.
According to the castle’s official website, the vaccines will be made available in the Medieval Custom building on Fridays from 2 PM to 8 PM, Saturdays from 10 AM to 8 PM, and Sundays from 10 AM to 6 PM.
Currently, Romania is at Level 4 which is "Very High Level of COVID-19" in CDC advisory. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the country has reported 1,066,111 positive cases and 28966 deaths.
