Sri Lanka has now approved a proposal to issue long-term visas for those tourists who are interested in investing in the nation. According to Namal Rajapaksa, Minister of Youth and Sports, the proposal was approved by the cabinet and it should lead to an increase in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI).
Sri Lanka is supposedly aiming to attract USD 3 billion in FDI by 2026, according to the state-owned investment agency, The Board of Investment (BOI). A strategic plan has been planned for the period of 2022 to 2026 for the same. This should create more than 100000 jobs in the country too.
