The development was reported by Goa’s Tourism Minister Manohar Ajgaonkar, "We have decided to allow domestic travellers to enter Goa from July 2 onwards provided they comply with certain norms.” Reportedly, the decision was made in a cabinet meeting, presided by Goa CM Pramod Sawant.
Here is a breakdown of what one needs to know before planning a visit to Goa:
- Carry a negative COVID-19 certificate that has been conducted over the past 48 hours. Else, travellers will have to get tested in Goa for the same.
- Anyone testing positive for Coronavirus would either have to go back or stay in quarantine in Goa until their test result is declared.
- Travellers need to pre-book their stay at a hotel that has been approved to operate by the tourism department.
- Travellers with bookings in a non-approved hotel or homestay will not be allowed, and the same would be deemed illegal.
