Gulmarg's Apharwat, which sits around 14000 ft above sea level, has around 1 ft of snow still and is luring thousands of tourists every day. If we go by what tourists have to say about their experience, they are just taken aback to see the arrival of sudden winters in the middle of peak summer, and were seen wearing winter coats and woollen in May.
They added that they didn’t expect this much cold anywhere and, in their words, "We strongly recommend that everyone visit this Paradise on Earth now."
Tourists who are now in Kashmir feel truly blessed to find snow during this season. They are also full of praise for its beauty and people's hospitality.Reports have it that the weather has changed dramatically in the valley in May, wherein the higher reaches of the valley are recently experiencing a fresh spell of snowfall.
Most of the areas in the union territory are witnessing temperatures still below normal. This has helped the valley in both ways, first, by making it extremely enjoyable for tourists visiting the Kashmir region, and second, it has also resulted in higher earnings for locals.
In this regard, the valley's traders, hoteliers, and artisans have already stated that they already had a fantastic start to the year 2023, and that things ahead seem bright too.
