Restaurants are only allowed for takeaways and deliveries. People can now go back to their workplaces but from 9 PM to 5 AM, there will be a complete curfew everyday, including Saturdays and Sundays.
An unvaccinated senior citizen (65 plus) can only head out of their homes between 10 AM to 2 PM on weekdays. Also in case of intercity travel during curfews, permissions will be needed.
Several cases of new infections and COVID-19 deaths were reported after restrictions lifted in March 2021. This prompted the Turkish government to go into a complete lockdown by the end of April. This time the government took the strictest measures since the start of the Coronavirus, following record new cases above 60000 per day.
According to the statistics shared by the health ministry, the country reported 11472 new cases and 44537 confirmed deaths.
