If reports are to go by, this is a routine exercise that is carried out once in two years. This comes as the 14th edition of Aero India 2023 is also scheduled to take place at the same time at the Yelahanka Air Force Station in Bengaluru. Referring to this, the Kempegowda International Airport added that there will be partial air space closure during Aero India 2023, which will impact commercial flight schedules between 08 -17 February, 2023. Referring to this, the Kempegowda International Airport added that there will be partial air space closure during Aero India 2023, which will impact commercial flight schedules between 08 -17 February, 2023.
'Aero India 2023' is said to be Asia's biggest airshow that will be held for five days. While the first three days are reserved for business visitors, the general public get to enjoy the show for the last two days.
Because of this, commercial flight operations will remain shut between 9 am to 12 pm, and from 2 pm to 5 pm till February 11. On February 12, the closure time will be between 9 am to 12 pm, whereas runways will be shut between 9 am to 12 pm on February 13 for inauguration ceremony and air display. Reports have it that on February 14 and 15, flight operations will again remain impacted between 12 pm to 2:30 pm, whereas on February 16 and 17, runways will be affected between 9:30 am to 12 pm and 2 pm to 5 pm.
Following this,some airlines have cancelled or rescheduled their flights, while adding that this might impact travel plans of people, and that they sincerely regret the inconvenience.
