India is soon going to get a brand new toy train ride. Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister, Pema Khandu, has approved the proposal to start a toy train project in western Arunachal Pradesh’s Tawang region. The proposal has been put forward by the North East Frontier Railway (NFR). The presentation for the toy train project was presented to the Chief Minister by NFR General Manager, Anshul Gupta.
The toy train is going to have three bodies, each of which is going to hold 12 passengers. The Chief Minister, pleased by the proposal, has approved of it, and has suggested that officials of the NFR should coordinate with the district administration to smoothen the process. The Chief Minister has also assured NFR of the state government’s coordination.
Moreover, Chief Minister Khandu also requested NFR to take a look at the possibility of introducing new train services to South India. He said that with so many people going to South India for studies, jobs, medical treatments, and more, there is an urgent need for direct train services to Bangalore via Chennai.
