A Ranchi-based sweetshop launches immunity-boosting colourful rasgullas for festive season

The Coronavirus pandemic has led to the creation of many firsts in India to beat the deadly virus. Talking about food, we witnessed how a Kolkata-based sweetseller came up with Corona sandesh and herbal sandesh to build immunity against the virus whilst also relishing healthy and delicious dessert. Photos of sandesh varieties went viral on the internet soon after they were launched, and were met with positive reactions.

Now, a Ranchi sweet shop has also started selling immunity-boosting rasgullas with really unusual ingredients. Kamal Aggarwal, the confectioner, has used bitter gourd, green chilly, garlic and turmeric to make rasgullas for the festivals lined-up during the ongoing pandemic.
Reportedly, the idea was born in Kamal’s mind when his business ebbed low due to the lockdown implemented in the wake of COVID-19. In order to revive his sales, the owner came up with a sweet that not only tasted good but also boosted immunity.
Kamal Aggarwal told a leading news website that when he introduced the rasgulla rich with immunity-boosting ingredients, it could not meet the expectations. However, the business has been doing well since Durga Puja, and he has enough orders for Diwali. In addition, there are several other varieties made, using more natural ingredients such as dhania, elaichi, chyawanprash, kiwi, amla, chocolate, moringa, giloy, beetroot, khajoor, tulsi and pudina.
As for the price, the dessert has been priced at INR 100 for a pack of five and INR 200 for a pack of 10. If you’re from Ranchi, you can also get these delicious rasgullas delivered at home. You can buy a pack of five rasgullas for ₹100 and a pack of ten for ₹200.
