The Edo-Tokyo Museum is massive! Two stories full of scale replicas and exhibits showcasing the history of Japan from the beginning of the Edo Period in the 1600s on up to the 1990s. A wildly impressive museum that exceeded all expectations, and a great way to kill two hours. Plus, every exhibit is in both English and Japanese, so you have no excuse for not learning something.
Nearby: Although sumo tournaments at Ryokoku Kokugikan only happen three months out of the year, the small sumo museum is open year-round.
