Located in the region of Dalmatia, Dubrovnik is the most prominent city in Croatia. It has been listed as a UNESCO world heritage site since 1979. The location on the Adriatic Sea gives a unique identity to this coastal town. The glorious past of Dubrovnik has made it one of the world’s most magnificent walled cities. Famously known as ‘the pearl of Adriatic’, the city of Dubrovnik prospered during the maritime trade, i.e., from 13th century to 17th century. The charming pedestrian-only old town, with narrow streets and baroque palaces, surrounded by shimmering blue water of Adriatic invite the lion's share of the European holiday makers, besides the local Croatian visitors to Dubrovnik. It is a one-town tourist industry on its own, with endless things to do all year round. In the recent times, the city shot to fame as the setting of ‘King’s Landing’ in the hit TV series of Game of Thrones. Walk around the old town, take a hike or kayak around the coastline, the enchanting beauty remains a constant companion in everything you do. As George Bernard Shaw once said “those who seek paradise on Earth should come to Dubrovnik”!
