Western Railways have announced that it won’t allow seasonal pass holders in long-distance trains anymore. The initiative was taken by the railways to provide safety to the commuters in express trains between Virar to Dahanu. The move came after the railways received complaints regarding passengers with daily pass travelling in long-distance train (Kutch Express) between Virar and Dahanu and troubling the passengers with reserved seats.
Now to take strict measures to curb these practices, railway officials have asked officials to put a stamp on all the tickets ‘Not Permitted To Travel In Reserved Sleeper Coaches’ whenever they are issuing monthly, weekly, quarterly, half and yearly seasonal tickets.

The step taken by the railway officials will help in controlling the issue and will become easier for the railways to keep a check on such wrong practices.
