In addition, IRCTC has also issued a notice stating that a refund of the full fare of confirmed train tickets will be given in case a passenger is stopped from boarding the train after being screened of Coronavirus symptoms.
The Railway Board has forwarded the instructions to all the zones telling them that special Rajdhani trains and the trains yet to go on tracks, will have waiting lists of up to:
- 200 for Sleeper class,
- 100 for 3AC 3 and Chair Car
- 50 for 2AC
- 20 for First AC as well as Executive Class
Presently, passengers in the waiting list are not permitted to board these special Rajdhani Express trains.
Train tickets can be booked either through the IRCTC (Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation) website or app.
A railway ministry official told the press that the reason behind issuing waitlisted tickets for the special trains is that some passengers have been cancelling tickets at the last moment.
More than 19000 passengers have travelled in these special trains, which started from May 12, 2020.
