Delhi has several centuries-old sites that are worthy of a visit; be it for a nature walk, picnic, photography, a winter day out or simply for a good run. Sunder Nursery aka Azim Bagh or Bagh-e-Azeem is one such heritage spot that has found a place for itself in the list of the city’s best places to visit.
Sunder Nursery is spread over an area of 90 acres, and now it boasts of 300 varieties of trees!
In addition, the lake located on the northern end of the central view with pavilions, walkways and seats is a good place to hangout, absorb the natural beauty and simply be. Sunder Nursery has an amphitheater which is perfect for hosting cultural events in the city.
On most Sundays, a Farmers’ Market is held at a designated spot here where farmers from different parts of India put up stalls to sell their organically grown fruits, vegetables, pulses etc. The Farmers’ Market also offer condiments, pickles, honey and wooden combs, among others.
