It is the largest drive-thru light show not just in Winnipeg but in the whole province of Manitoba and it features over one million lights in total. It runs from December 4th until January 2nd, being closed only on Christmas day. The 2.5 km route is located throughout the Red River Exhibition Park and there is no need to bundle up to take part in this activity. Stay warm and dry in your car as you drive through 25 different themed areas, open from 6 pm to 10 pm. It’s only $10 per vehicle to come into the park and make sure to turn your radio to the park’s music station to jam along to the Christmas tunes. You might want to bring your coat as well as your mittens as on the weekends there are numerous activities to do once you have experienced the lights including sleigh rides complete with a built in fireplace on the sleigh itself. There is also free skating once the weather is cold enough and a 75 foot Christmas tree that hosts over 3,000 LED lights. Kids will love stopping along the route to pick up a special treat from the treat store and options include mini donuts, cotton candy, popcorn and hot chocolate. There is even a special day when the park turns 3D and the lights pop out even more.
