Mixology is a spirited science (no pun intended), where a mixologist takes on a series of beverages and creates quite a magic. And right now on the white sands of Morjim there is a Brazilian consultant mixologist who is doing just that. Brought in by local entrepreneur Jaydeep Rajebhosale who has named and even created the Spanish concept of Marbela on the beach. So what is in store for the diner at the lounge bar and restaurant?
The mixologist creates new twists in classic cocktails that are making a comeback - the Caipirinha, Dirty Martini or start sharing with a Mojito Jug or a Cuban Coconut. Dip the straws in together and have a go. So with your mix select a snack of your choice. The pizzas are great - Quatro Fromaggio (mozzarella, gorgonzola, caprini and parmesan) or the Balsamic Chicken (cheesy licking good) or the Indian spiced (chicken tikkas) variety. Well, James Bond believed in having his mixes shaken not stirred, but the mix of entertainment and food put on for you will definitely stir your senses.

The two huge white teppes erected in the place are kept for shadow play. As the sun sets an Ariel acrobat swings with the surya namaskar… a salutation on the ring to the departing ball of fire. This season DJ Darko and DJ Bubbles who have performed at international acclaimed clubs like Fabric, Cross Club are especially flown from abroad and will be resident DJs. The central bar will have 3-4 Brazilian bar tenders demonstrating latest fairing and juggling techniques. Die for cocktails are prepared by famous Mixologist and international bar flairing champion Diego. If you have a deep love for music than there is a surprise waiting for you this year. And as the music rises in tempo, on certain days the beat of the Spanish drums brings out cravings which a good meal can address. So, feast on seafood grilled to your taste. The chefs too put on a great show. Marbela is a place to get both shaken and stirred.
