Odisha holds the distinction of having the most varied number of tribal communities in the country who are responsible for the rich artistic and cultural heritage of the state. The tribals are naturally gifted designers in dhokra (brass metal items), bamboo craft, woodcraft, ceramic handcraft and wood inlay arts. Minor forest products such as amla, shikakai, honey and triphala are also made by these communities. Mustard oil, dry chilly, turmeric powder, tamarind chutney are few of the agricultural items that are produced as well. Indigenously made, these are bereft of any chemicals and preservatives. Tribal Development Cooperative Corporation (TDCC) provides opportunity to these communities to sell their products through its seven outlets in Odisha. The primary outlet in Bhubaneswar is situated at Rupali Square, Unit 9. Apart from providing the perfect platform for selling these beautiful products and organic produce, TDCC also helps in strengthening market linkage, packaging, standardisation and promotion. With various sculpted designs in brass metal and wood, you will be spoilt for choices if you are looking at collecting the perfect souvenir for your home.Refrain from posting comments that are obscene, defamatory or inflammatory, and do not indulge in personal attacks, name calling or inciting hatred against any community.
