Mark the date on your calendar for Solar Eclipse 2018 which will be visible from earth on Thursday, February 15. It has not been long since the super blood blue moon – the rare celestial event – left the human population of the earth wide-eyed. And today, a Partial Solar Eclipse will unleash new energies throughout our planet. So, if you’re really committed to 2018’s first solar eclipse, you might even want to witness this phenomenon in its truest form. But, the next obvious thought is – will it be visible in India? Unfortunately, eclipse watchers in India won’t be able to behold the occurrence. However, it will be visible in Antarctica, east of Antarctic Peninsula, and the regions south of Rio Gallegos, and in the Falkland Islands. Those living in Argentina and Chile, and places in the southernmost regions of Paraguay, Uruguay, and Brazil will also get an opportunity to see the eclipse.
For all the aforementioned places, the eclipse will start around 5.43 PM and go on until 7.34 PM local time in the Antarctic Peninsula. Even though the Solar Eclipse won’t be visible from India, yet, as per astrological and astronomical calculations, its effects will still be experienced in the country from 18.55 PM to 22.47 PM IST.

Solar eclipses happen when the moon comes between the earth and the sun. In case of partial eclipses, the three celestial bodies are not in line. The moon blocks out a portion of the sun, while simultaneously moving along its orbit. Partial eclipses tend to take place every 6 months or so.
