A two-hour drive from Binsar along the winding roads leads to Kausani, a beautiful hill station located in Kumaon. The magnificent vistas of Binsar turn even more enchanting as one nears the gorgeously picturesque Kausani. You can start by visiting tea plantation located just before Kausani town, followed by a tea factory located nearby. You can start by visiting tea plantation located just before Kausani town, followed by a tea factory located nearby. For locally handcrafted shawls and other products, visit the shawl factory that lies close to the tea plantation. These shawls are made from the wool of the local sheep. One of the best places to visit in Kausani is Anasakti Ashram where Mahatma Gandhi had spent 14 days of his life. The important events of Gandhi’s life and connected events are displayed here. The ashram also offers panoramic vistas of Himalayas. You can behold the beauty of of Nanda Devi, Nanda Kot, Nanda Khat, Nanda Ghunti, Pancha Chuli, Trishul, Neelkanth from here. Don’t be surprised if you can’t stop gazing at those peaks in oblivion as the mountains soak themselves in the rays of the sun.
