Embrace nature

Nature at an airport? Really? Yes! Changi Airport has created small colourful gardens that are also in a way representative of Singapore’s nature. You can go to these gardens and spend some time closer to nature rather than feel suffocated inside all glass and steel building. Sunflower Garden on the rooftop of T2 has rows of sunflower that make an excellent foreground for the planes taking off and landing in the background. Butterfly Garden, also at T2, is a double-storey space designed to attract butterflies. You can see many colourful butterflies sitting on various plants and pineapple pieces kept there or just fluttering all around.
Also worth exploring is the Orchid Garden in the middle of T2 with a small pond that is full of coins. Orchid being the national flower of Singapore makes the garden a little special and I personally quite liked the landscaping of this garden. If you are fond of cacti, then there is a Cactus Garden at T1 and in case you like interactive gardens then visit the Enchanted Garden where the flora reacts and responds to light and sound. Apart from these, you can also admire vertical gardens and green walls in different parts of the airport, such as arrival halls and near baggage carousel. If you are one of those who like to take selfies, then these gardens are the best place to take some with colourful backdrops.
