Located in the city, you could take your family to the zoo for a wild adventure. The zoo is open from 9 am to 5:15 pm five days a week, except Monday. Regarded as the oldest zoo in India, it occupies a total area of 55 acres, and has woodland, lakes, and lawns. It was established way back in the 1800s by Swathi Thirunal Varma who rules Travancore during the ancient times. It was later formally established as a zoo in 1857, and was initially opened as recreational hotspot. The zoo today has lost quite a bit of land, and is focussed on conversation of wild animals. You can expect a total of 82 species here from around the world, and these include the lion-tailed macaque, the Nilgiri langur, Indian rhinoceros, Asiatic lion, royal Bengal tiger, white tiger, and leopard. There is also something called the Reptile House where you can see different types of poisonous and non-poisonous snakes, along with seven anacondas.Refrain from posting comments that are obscene, defamatory or inflammatory, and do not indulge in personal attacks, name calling or inciting hatred against any community.
