All over the city there are endless opportunities to spot the awesome Christmas lights. Located just north of the city is the largest free walk through Christmas light display in Western Canada. From 1st December through 31st December, everyone is invited to take in these awesome light displays. Counted among the favourite displays are dancing lights, where lights flash to the sound of Christmas music, and slow-moving animated lights. If you have a little one in tow, the miniature train that runs through the pathways is an excellent alternative to walking and is free for riders under the age of 2! Make sure to stop by one of two handcrafted fire pits where you can warm your hands and enjoy a delicious mug of hot chocolate. Another spot to check out the Christmas lights in Calgary is Candy Cane Crescent where music, lights and plenty of inflatables line the street. Worth noting is the Godard’s, located on Crestmont Drive, where the light show runs from 5 pm to 10 pm and features lights tuned to Darth Vader’s Imperial March. Calgary truly comes alive in the wintertime and more and more households and businesses are now competing to see who truly has the best Christmas light displays. Jump into your car and vote for your favourites.
