Daily passengers of Coimbatore now have a chance to win a bicycle every week as a consumer forum named Coimbatore Citizen Voice Club is planning to gift it to one passenger on a weekly basis in order to create awareness on the introduction of new trains and, thus, encourage people to commute by trains and as a result help in reducing pollution in the region.
Talking about this new awareness campaign, CM Jayaraman, the consumer forum president said, “The details of new trains should reach people to get them benefitted. So, we are planning to create awareness among people about the trains as well as train journeys and decided to conduct two lucky draw contests for the passengers who are travelling in the trains and give a bicycle to winners”.

In order to stand a chance to win a bicycle, the passengers travelling on the train from Coimbatore to Pollachi would need to drop their journey tickets, with details like name and mobile numbers filled, in the consumer forum's dropbox kept at its office near the district collectorate. Those who can’t make it to the office can send their train ticket number, PNR number, name and mobile number to citizenvoiceclub@gmail.com or WhatsApp them to 9994764375/9442107546.
Revealing more details about the campaign, Jayaraman said, "Each week we would conduct a draw and one passenger would be selected and given a bicycle. Those who are sharing the details of the trains on their Facebook page and Twitter would be given books written by APJ Abdul Kalam".
