The Pattaya Floating Market covers an area of 100,000 sq m, and comprises of four sections, which represents the items from the four parts of Thailand (south, central, northeast, and north). Expect to find a lot of souvenir shops, fruit stalls, eateries, and a few art galleries. The Pattaya Floating Market is home to 114 shops and water sellers vending authentic desserts, Thai food, and specialties from all around the country. Every afternoon, a cultural show is performed. For an authentic experience of the floating market, hire a boat. It’s big enough for a family of four. Available for a small fee, you can enjoy this exceptional experience for half an hour. Also, experience the Thai riverside life and architecture firsthand. The main attraction of the floating market is the food. There are a lot of delicious Thai dishes and classic desserts to taste. The best are Thong Yip (sweet egg yolk), Foi Thong (golden threads), Ka Nom Krok (coconut pancake), Kanom Jean (rice vermicelli) with different curries, Pad Thai (stir-fried rice noodles), noodle soup, and more. Ancient wooden toys, Thai handicrafts, and postcards are very popular as well.
Besides shops and food stalls, the Floating Market of Pattaya also features other entertainment and educational attractions. The museum displays stunning wood-carved images and if you are passionate about photography, the agricultural demonstration and sunflower fields are a must visit.
The market is situated at Sukhumvit Road, about two km past Pattaya Underwater World on the way towards Sattahip.
