Odisha Crafts Museum to start guided Museum Walk from June 16

The popular Ekmara Walks, one of the major attractions in Bhubaneswar, is going to add another feather on its cap by offering tourists and locals a different sort of experience―a guided Museum Walk. As per the news reports, the museum walk will start from the end of this week.
Reportedly, Odisha Crafts Museum (Kala Bhoomi) will host the inaugural walk, which will be held on Saturday between 3:30 PM and 5 PM. This Crafts Museum is also a newly-inaugurated museum that showcases handlooms and handicrafts.

Museum walk has been introduced to create awareness among people regarding culture and history of Odisha. It is expected that this move will motivate both tourists and locals to visit architectural and archaeological sites. These experiences will in turn enable the population to conserve and preserve their own heritage and culture.
The museum walk at Kala Bhoomi is primarily an initiative jointly started by Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation, Odisha Tourism, Bhubaneswar Development Authority along with Handlooms, Textile, and Handicrafts Department.
Further, Odisha Crafts Museum is one-of-a-kind to be established in the state. The chief purpose of setting up this museum is to promote state crafts and also to serve as a repository of ageless artefacts, which has been collected from across the state.

The art and crafts of Odisha are quite popular across the country. In fact, the age-old practice of painting, sculpting, and weaving eventually led to creating scores of handlooms and handicrafts, which explicitly reflect on the diverse culture of the state. The newly introduced museum walk will let you experience the culture of the state in a nutshell.
