Now, you can take a direct flight for Singapore from Northeast India

The first non-stop flight service from Northeast India to Singapore has been launched by the Singapore Changi Airport. This flight service between Guwahati and Singapore will be operated by Drukair Royal Bhutan Airlines. And with the introduction of this new route, it is expected that the travel time will be reduced from 10 hours to 4 hours 30 min.
Drukair started operating flight on this new route from September 29. While this development will facilitate travellers to cut down their travel time, it is also expected that the new link will not only strengthen socio-political and cultural ties but will also improve travel and trade practices between the two countries.

Lim Ching Kiat, Managing Director of Air Hub Development, Changi Airport Group, referring to this development said that India is the source of third largest tourism market for Singapore and it is one of the key growth markets of Changi Airport. Introduction of the new route will enhance connectivity between India and Singapore, thereby bringing the city links to a total of 16. He further added that he looks forward to welcoming more travellers from Guwahati, who can tap Changi’s extensive network of destinations in Asia, such as China, Australia, Japan and Indonesia.
India being Changi’s sixth largest market, has registered a growth of 14 per cent on a year-on-year basis. And with all the additional services, Changi Airport will be connected by around 280 weekly one-way services to 16 cities in India.
