Ligue Arab Park

Ligue Arab Park, also known as the ‘lungs of Casablanca’, is Casablanca’s largest open space. The layout of the park reflects Casablanca’s French heritage but the flora is staunchly Moroccan. The park isn’t landscaped like YSL’s Jardin Majorelle in Marrakech, Morocco—in fact, its starkness is what makes it impressive. This provides the perfect admixture of the two cultures that have shaped the city of Casablanca.
The park provides the perfect excuse to spend a relaxing day in the city. There is a small amusement park for kids and a few cafés if you want to grab a quick bite. If you look carefully, there’s even a dilapidated cathedral—an unusual sight in a Muslim city. The park can be quite run down in places but it’s quite a hidden gem if you exercise common precautions.
