With nearly 200 km of passages mapped so far, Lechuguilla is one of the world's largest cave systems, but it is most famous for its stunning formations. These include vast expanses of sparkling aragonite crystals, beautiful gypsum flowers growing out of the walls, gorgeously coloured flowstone, and the world's largest gypsum crystals in the amazing and unique Chandelier Ballroom. At present the cave is open only to approved scientific expeditions.
