This is one of Normandy's classiest campsites. It's on the green grounds of one of Louis XVI hunting lodges, just back from the historic house among apple trees, glassy pond and little wood. For kids, there's a maze, a stylish, in the French way, pool and facilities wing, and lots of space to run around and trees to climb. And for grown-ups, there's quiet, beautiful surrounds and a whole lot of history—the hunting lodge has been in the same family for generations, and the owners took to talking in campers to help pay for the repairs to WWII bomb damage. Eating is one of the cross generational things to do around here. Moules, crevettes, locally grown fruit and vegetables—apples sometime fortified into cider and calvados, and freshly baked breads and other treats—which are brought to the camp every morning by delivery in time for the breakfast.
