Recently renovated, this is one of the best places to take kids to learn more about nature, animals and to get some fresh air. Self-guided visits are one of the best ways to explore the nature centre with plenty of options for kids including colouring pages and scavenger hunts. The Tegler Discovery Zone is especially designed for children under the age of 10 and features an indoor play space that is meant to replicate the natural world. Here children have the opportunity to climb trees, crawl through underground tunnels, build their own flowers and more. For families with a little bit older of children you may want to consider signing out a backpack from the visitor’s desk. Inside the backpack are self-guided activities for families or small groups of older children. Other activities here that kids will enjoy are the nature walks, geocaching and the exhibit rooms which is constantly changing and rotating its exhibits. The centre is open all year round, making it wonderful to visit no matter what the season is. With admission prices starting at just $3 per person, this is one the most affordable activities in the city of Edmonton.
