INS Viraat, the world’s oldest aircraft carrier, will soon be converted into a museum. As per the news reports, it will be India’s first decommissioned aircraft carrier that will be turned into an adventure and maritime tourism. It will host activities like scuba diving, luxury hotel, cafeteria and other adventure sports. Read less
The under chief secretary, appointed by the state, stated that the proposal will be fine-tuned after discussing issues with the Navy officials.
There are around seven aircraft carriers around the world that have been converted into museums, luxury hotels and theme parks. It remains to be seen as to when this majestic aircraft carrier turns into a museum and is up and running for visitors to witness the grandeur of INS Viraat.
