Indian Railways is taking steps to manage increased passenger rush owing to the Republic Day celebrations and the long weekend. In line with these special steps, South Eastern Railway will run a pair of special superfast train between Santragachi and Puri on January 25.
Indian Railways to offer discounts similar to airlines and hotels
As per the reports, the train from Santragachi to Puri will start its journey on January 25, whereas the return train will start its journey from Puri on January 26. This has been confirmed by a spokesperson from the South Eastern Railways.
The scheduled departure of the Santragachi Puri Special (02809) train for January 25 is 7 PM; it will reach Puri by 3:20 AM the next day. Also, it has to be noted that the special train (02810) leaving on January 26 from Puri at 1:30 PM will reach Santragachi on the same day at 10:15 PM.

The spokesperson from the South Eastern Railways said that the special train will consist of eight sleeper class and eight AC-3 Tier coaches. The route of the special train has also been disclosed. It will stop at various stations that falls between Santragachi and Puri, such as Kharagpur, Balasore, Jaipur, Keonjhar Road, Bhubaneshwar, Bhadrak, Cuttak and Khurda Road.
This step by the Indian Railways is expected to bring cheers to passengers, whose route falls on this line.
