By road: There are Kerala State Transport Buses available from Kozhikode.
You can drive down from Bangalore (320 Km), passing through the Bandipur National Park, or from Mysore (140 Km), a route which takes you along the Kabini river through Nagarhole National Park. Both routes are excellent, with good roads and possibility of sighting animals and birds.
Where to stay: There are plenty of resorts in Wayanad, in and around Kalpetta as well as the major tourist spots. There are also plenty of homestays in the region, which are worth a try.
