Hornbill Festival 2017 is turning out to be a huge success just like previous years. In two days time, the festival has been attended by 73,090 people, which is a huge number. From local folks to foreign tourists, the ongoing festival has attracted quite some eyeballs this year.

Admiring the effort of people of Nagaland, Lt Gen Shokin Chauhan, Director General of Assam Rifles (DGAR), praised the organisers and said, "the unique, rich, varied and vibrant culture of Nagaland showcases a perfect melange of cultural displays." He mentioned that Naga culture is quite unique and is not only colourful but is also powerful at the same time. The culture is much more than its vibrant costumes, beautiful songs and dances. Naga culture also displays strength, honesty and the great warrior tradition that runs in the blood of each Naga.

This year, the third day of the Hornbill Festival Nagaland 2017 was also marked by 7th Hornbill Half Marathon and Great Hornbill Run which was planned by Elite Entertainment Enterprise, Traditional Fire Making Competition, Cycle Rally, 'A step towards conservation of the environment.'
The Hornbill Night Carnival is organised by Kohima Chamber of Commerce and Industries and this time is grabbing a lot of attention, and the number of visitors is hopefully going to go up before the fest ends on Dec 5.
