One of the newer malls in Calicut, the HiLite Mall is the largest shopping mall of Calicut and the best place to indulge in a bit of retail therapy. The mall is located on the outskirts on the Palazhi bypass junction on the National Highway 66 and is spread over 4 lakh square feet. With 200+ branded retail outlets, the centralised air conditioning is a great way t escape the summer heat! The mall has 32 escalators, 18 elevators and 4 travelators and an 8-screen multiplex from Cinepolis is due to open soon. The food court offers a variety of options that will satiate your taste buds. Check out Kobe Sizzlers, a high quality sizzler joint, Noodle King for Chinese food, Nagas for authentic Hyderabadi cuisine and Marhaba for the real taste of Arabia. My picks however are Salkara an ode to Malabar's culinary culture and the Dessert Factory that offers a delectable assortment of popular desserts and snacks. This mall is part of an integrated township spread over 16 acres called HiLite City. The Amoeba Leisure Zone at the mall has a Bowling Alley and gaming zone. The family entertainment centre is spread over 11,000 square feet and has a kids’ play area, video games, bowling lanes, dashing cars, dark house and more. To keep shoppers engaged, the mall has a calendar of events that are planned through the year.
